Promise Of Wisdom And Knowledge - Ephesians 1:17

A biblical promise of wisdom and knowledge exists for all born again Believers. All wisdom and knowledge come from the Holy Spirit and are promised to Believers.

As a Believer, you will want to forget everything you think you know about yourself and wisdom, deny the knowledge of who you think you were born as and become a new creature in Christ with a new identity, which is the beginning of being born again. You are not your past mistakes. You are the light in this present darkness, full of God-given talents Jesus wants you to use for His Kingdom.

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints –Ephesians 1:15. Loving other Believers is evidence of faith in Jesus. No matter what doctrine another Christian believes, telling them the truth about sin is love. Feeding itching ears, which is telling Christians what they want to hear instead of what the Bible says, is enmity with God, being an enemy of God; it is selfish hatred and bigotry toward Jesus.

A person who has faith in Jesus must repent, which means admit you are a sinner, confess your sins to Jesus, make a decision to change your mind and then change your direction away from your sin and toward Jesus. If you have faith in Jesus and repent, you will receive the Holy Spirit, that is a biblical promise. A Christian who does not repent could not have the Holy Spirit and can cause a lack of unity within the Body of Christ if that person’s heart hardens to a certain point.

I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers -Ephesians 1:16. No matter where a person is in his or her walk with God, no one is beyond hope as long as the person is still alive. Faith is thanking God for what is not yet seen. If you are a Believer, and you know there are people you love who are not right with God, praise Jesus and thank Him for their future salvation while you pray and intercede for them.

If you need to build your faith, start simple. Before you go to the store, thank Jesus for giving you the parking spot you need. I drive a forklift at work and I thank Jesus for opening up a restroom for me every time I need to take a break and there is always a restroom open for me to use. Before I started doing that, I always had to wait in line. I have even went to a home improvement store and thanked Jesus before I left home for the exact amount of wood stain on the returns cart I needed, and when I got to the store, there were 6 gallons I needed at 85% off.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. –Ephesians 1:17. Both wisdom and revelation come from the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus who God sent to us.

The first step in being born again and being able to receive from the Holy Spirit is salvation, when we know God personally, having a relationship with Jesus instead of just having a religion about God. The better we get to know God, the closer we become to Him. Finally, when we see Him face-to-face, we will be a complete person. Until then, the promise while we are on earth is the continual filling of wisdom and knowledge from the Holy Spirit to those Believers who are born again and seek God.
