There are numerous reasons to pray. Firstly, prayer changes situations
and circumstances. It gives you the spiritual boost that you need to get through this life. It blesses others including your
enemies when you pray for them.
The Bible tells us to pray in the Holy Spirit to build ourselves us spiritually. It is good to receive
the Holy Spirit because the Bible tells us that we do not know what we should pray and the Holy Spirit does. When you
are praying in an unknown tongue (language) being led of the Holy Spirit, you are being built up and blessed as well as others.
The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete (The Comforter) and is alongside to help us.
Therefore, it behoves us to pray. Earnest, sincere prayer creates a closeness to Jesus. I am
not speaking of uttering a few words of selfishness. I am speaking of earnestly seeking God with your whole heart. He
knows when you are sincere and He is not far from you. You may not always feel His anointing and presence when you pray.
Nevertheless, it doesn't mean that He isn't present. Sometimes the Lord tries us to see whether we will have faith and
trust Him even when we don't feel His presence.
If we constantly prayed and felt His anointing every time, we would probably take His presence for granted. This
way, you learn to appreciate His presence. The Lord spoke to me one day and told me that in your patience, possess ye
your soul. So pray, pray, pray, and when you cannot do anything else - pray. Keep your fellowship and relationship
going with Jesus Christ and continue to seek His face and turn from your wicked and selfish ways. There is always something
that you can stand to be purged from. If you want a perfect heart, seek the Lord earnestly and express your love to
Him. It will pay off for you.
The Bible admonishes us to draw nigh (near) to God and He will draw nigh to you. Sometimes, the Lord
will lead you to pray for someone on the other side of the planet. If you are being selfish and self-willed, you will
miss Him nudging you to pray for someone else.
