Perseverance Through Tough Times of Testing - Being Supernatural in a Natural World!
As
we experience times of financial troubles and worldly distress it is easy to become fainthearted and discouraged. Some
of us have experienced hurricanes, relocations, ministerial relocations and redirections, family crisis', job losses and
other woes.
This is the time for saints of God to cleave
to Jesus and the word of God. We must stand on what the Scriptures say because the word of God is
truth!
Everything is this present world is designed to
be temporary including our present physical bodies. Our souls are eternal. You may notice that many individuals
are having various forms of plastic surgeries performed on their bodies in an effort to conform to this present world.
The
Bible tells us not to conform to this present world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We are not to
do as the secular world dictates when it comes to living outside of the word of God. We must adhere to the Holy Scriptures
because when it comes down to fact, that is all we truly have.
Jesus
is our Lord and Savior. His mercy endures continuously. Our homes get old, our bodies grow old, our
vision becomes dim, our vehicles become old and outdated. The earth itself is changing because it is old. That is
the reason that we have various earthquakes and Tsunamis and the like.
Everything
is aligning itself for the second coming of Christ except many of His people. We need to acknowledge that this
world is not our home and stop trying to live as if it is.
Many
saints are lusting after the cares of this life of which the Bible warns us not to. Saints are lusting after better jobs,
houses, and the current "prosperity doctrine" - you know, drop money in the offering and you are supposed to be
blessed with an instant business or deliverance.
The Bible
tells us God's true plan of prosperity. Prosperity in Jesus does not necessarily mean that all are going to
be made rich. If God blesses you with debt-free living, good health, salvation for you and your loved ones, clothing,
shelter, and the like, then that is prosperity.
I do not
understand where this teaching stemmed from concerning this idealology of "the coming of the great transferance of wealth"
of which I do not see any Scripture for. It sounds to me more like the famous Peanuts cartoon, "It's the Great Pumpkin"
where the little boy tells the little girl that the Great Pumpkin is going to rise from the pumpkin patch and bring toys and
goodies and it never happens!
Whatever happened to
living a clean holy life before God? What ever happened to seeking first the Kingdom of God and these things that you seek
will be added to you? Now saints come to God any type of way - unholy and not bothering to spend a great amount of time in
prayer, fasting, and denying the flesh from television from time-to-time and expect God to pour millions of dollars into their
hands. For what - so that they can pat their back parts at God and walk away and consume it upon their lusts?
I
think not. There is a passage in the book of James that speaks of this. Many false prophets are in the midst.
They are divining for money from the saints of The Most High which is Jesus Christ. The Bible warned us about this.
Outwardly they are wearing sheep's clothing and inwardly they are ravening wolves.
If
you see people constantly being prophesied to concerning becoming rich and no one is actually receiving salvation i.e., being
baptized and receiving the Holy Spirit, something is wrong.
You
do not read anywhere in the Bible that the disciples sought after riches. Their lives were hid in Christ.
The Lord provided for them. That is why He told them not to take purse nor script for their journey. They were
to take nothing because God provided for them.
Be encouraged
my brothers and sisters.
Love in Christ!
Faithful and
Holy is He!
